THE A.C.E. Program
The purpose of the Accelerated Christian Education Curriculum is to provide Christian schools with a complete printed text and resource activities covering the basic academic skills and information subjects as recognized by contemporary American education. The general spiritual objective within the pages of the academic subjects is to train the child to see life from God's point of view, to shape attitudes and mold character.
The curriculum is written by trained and experience educators. It has been revised by the A.C.E. editorial staff under the direction of Dr. Rudolph Moore, assisted by Dr. Roy Butler.
The material is designed to find the level where the child is capable of performing, permit the child to learn at his/her own speed, and also to provide for the development of the self-image by training in self-motivation, creativity, goal orientation, and individual initiative in achievement.
The curriculum is built upon scope and sequence that consists of major topics generally covered in most states and local school systems. This curriculum incorporates basic skills, learning principles and academic concepts. Each subject level is divided into twelve "bite-sized" units called "Paces" (Packets of Accelerated Christian Education). Each Pace contains approximately three weeks of material.
The grade level, with its unique principles, concepts and vocabulary words is determined by diagnostic testing. It provides learning through self-instruction, continuous progress, graded vocabulary, and motivating activity responses. Most Paces contain learning objectives, word studies, directions, examples, and illustrations. The evaluation procedure includes self-evaluation, a unit self-test and a final unit test (Pace Test).
